Baroque mallet (BR and BRL)
These mallets, turned from a single piece of hornbeam, are designed mainly for playing on baroque timpani or very small, more modern timpani. The relatively short, ribbed stick with a thick grip tapering towards the head, gives an extremely open, transparent sound.
The BRL2 model, the leather-wrapped version of BR2, sounds slightly smoother and rounder, the good articulation remaining virtually unchanged.
