Erwin Falk EF402

This full-toned roll mallet combines the tonal and handling features of the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic timpani traditions, and is thus an interesting alternative particularly for use with the Viennese timpani.

This felt mallet is wrapped with a fluffy felt and may be ordered also with a tightly wrapped outer layer of felt, giving an extremely compact surface.

FELT MALLET (EF402)

In comparison with the other Erwin Falk models, this felt mallet has relatively long, thin maple sticks.

The head is of similar construction to the German models in the Benni Forster series.

Since Viennese timpani, which generally have a goatskin head, are always played with heavier mallets, a maple stick is helpful in this special type of felt mallet.

In addition, this type combines the tonal and handling features of the two traditions, and is thus an interesting alternative particularly for use with the Viennese timpani.
